Description:
Look for Original Daniel Fraser Falling Block coming in May..yes, original..!

Made for Col.Sir Aubrey Woolls-Sampson, (Sth Africa)  in 1903, as one of a pair.
A W-S was also supplied a pair of 450 Farq, and he was the first to order and use the 416.
A keen Rigby man indeed !

Action shows very little use, being tight slick and silent.
Has the much better (esp. for hunting)  *top tang* safety.
Superior quality 'French' walnut stocks, featuring genuine hand rubbed oil finish.
Original figured stocks with escutcheon AW-S. Stock has an old and very clever repair, but certainly could be retro-fitted if thats what you prefer.
New set of images coming before Easter.

Why invest in this rifle?
  • Very few remaining worldwide, this one sold me me twice in 20 years, c.2000,2010.
  • Only other recorded was sold recently in Aus.for $14,000, original but worn.
  • African provenance so hard to find
  • Practical and effective 'end user' hunting rifle
  • Easy to load and shoot. Bertram brass or resize 9.3x74R
  • Historcal reference and illustration in a definitive texts
  • Owned by decorated and primary protagonist in Boer War and S.A.identity.
  • Its a RIGBY ..not a second and third tier make

We are the very same company, 'Prentice Brothers' that ran a listing on the Double Gun Journal (Double Gun BBS) from late 90's to 2005, when export laws changed downunder, and the exchange rate raced upwards. We exported and imported the absolute vintage British 'live bird' guns, double rifles, bore rifles, single shot and irreplaceable collectibles to many States in the USA, plus France Spain and the U.K. Sadly we lost contact with nearly all our customers and dealer associates in the U.S.
