Description:
Serial #AX5787, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an “M/47C” (BSA) marked rifle that has retained about 92-95% of an armory applied phosphate finish with some mild silvering along the exposed edges and high points due to handling and contact wear. The matching numbered bolt has streaks of gray along the body with some further fading on the handle and on the wide safety lug. A milled adjustable rear sight is fitted, as is an “Ishapore bolt” through the forend just ahead of the receiver. The matching numbered forend and handguards have a fine military oil finish with scattered light handling marks and blemishes, while the buttstock, which has a cleaned brass buttplate, is in matching condition with a small rack number painted on the left side (“17”), and an armory repair at the heel. A single magazine is included, which has a matching phosphate finish, and a gray-green nylonsling is currently fitted as well. This is a handsome, post-war refurbished Lee-Enfield rifle and rates fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
