Here is a gun that I have spent allot of time trying to identify! It's a MANUFRANCE High Grade single barrel 12ga. with a rifled barrel Model SIMPLEX! I found an old catalog of 1931 that had the base grade Simplex smoothbore single barrel but I have found NOTHING on the this beautiful shotgun! I found an that had a similar gun with color case and a smooth bore for $700 EUROS or $756.00USD. This gun is hand engraved and I believe nickel plated, fine walnut with superb checkering, the barrel is 27 1/2" finely blued with European 3/4" swivels. It breaks by pushing the trigger guard down and the safety appears to be a hinged trigger.. LOP is 14 1/8", to a beautiful horn butt plate.,overall length is 43" and it only weighs 5 pounds 12 onces! My chamber gauge shows just short of 12ga. 2 3/4" NOT 2 1/2". This is a very unusual shotgun and very rare, in 60 years of guns I have never seen one like it.If anyone has any information about this gun and would be willing to share it, please contact me direct.
