Description:
This is an Austrian Mauser Model G29/40 in Caliber 30/06. This is a great gun with a great history. Manufactured by Austrian Arms Company which later became Steyr-Daimeler Puch. The model 29 was originally designed and manufactured for South American Countries. But as the modified G29/40 was made for the Luftwaffe later the guns were captured by the Norwegians who kept the rifles and converted them to 30/06 from their native 8mm Mauser. The gun condition is beautiful with a few mis-matches due to part changes. The bore is bright with strong lands and grooves. The original collector of this gun and many of the Mausers we have acquired lately was stationed in the Philippians in ordnance. There he met and worked with one of the experts in Mauser rifles and identification.
