Description:
Winchester Model 12 factory trap. Made in 1950 this gun has a 30” barrel with a 2-pin, duck bill vent rib, choke is marked FULL and measures .035” (full), metal front bead and metal mid bead. This is a very solid, mechanically excellent 67 year old Model 12 Trap. Sometime ago someone must have felt the need to “slap” a coat of varnish on top of the existing factory wood finish…just a little too thick and too shiny to pass for original! The metal is a good 97% with slight edge wear except along the left side of the receiver at the breech end where someone (maybe the same rocket scientist who put the varnish on) scratched the frame from take-down and re-assembly; so I give the metal a 95% rating. Straight comb, nicely figured stock, 14 3/8” LOP over a Winchester solid red rubber pad, 1 3/8” DAC, 1 7/8” DAH with right hand cast. Gun weighs 8 lbs. 8 oz. Fine old Model 12 trap.
