Description:
This is a re barreled Marlin and Ballard action chambered in 40-70. The 27” half octagonal barrel was made by Danskin. The blued finish is in very good condition, as is the bore. This barrel has a false muzzle and a sight blind. The front sight is a windage-adjustable tunnel sight. On the octagonal section of the barrel there are rails for a scope mount. The original Ballard action is engraved on both sides and is in good condition. There is a small amount of shallow pitting on the top of the receiver. The finish on the action parts is also in good condition, and the lever is color cased. Mounted on the tang of the receiver is an elevation-adjustable peep sight. The walnut furniture has a slightly glossy finish and a few small dings. There is checkering at the pistol grip and forend and a German silver inlay. Length of pull is 14-½”, overall length is 44”, and weight is 13.6 lbs. Comes with bullet starter. Our stock number is #A253. Will ship anywhere in the USA, buyer pays freight and insurance.
