Remington. Model No. 1. Rolling block rifle. Cal 45-70 Gov. 28" Octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore. One of the most widely used firearms designs off the late 19th century. Has German silver front blade sight in a dovetailed base. Standard elevation adjustable sporting rear sight, single set trigger, "45 CTGE GV" (GV for 45 Government, 45-70 on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the forearm, patent and address marking in two lines on the upper tang and matching serial numbers on the barrel and lower tang. Rifle is in fine condition with 40% of the original niter blue remaining . The frame has mottled grey and brown patina. The wood is very good with some small scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent. A super nice all original No 1 Rolling block in a very popular caliber. Serial # 820.
