This Colt was produced in 1959. Serial number is 25234SA. 1959 was the first year of the round top hammers with solid firing pins. 1958 was the first year of the 44 Special. This pistol is a very early 44 Special with only a total of 118 pistols produced in this configuration. This Colt is in unfired condition. There is vivid color cased finish on the frame with strong bright colors. The 5 1/2 inch barrel has clear roll marked lettering. The front sight is unaltered. The hard rubber grips are minty with no flattening of the checkering or point loss. This pistol only needs a box to complete the set. This Colt is one of the very collectable and hard to find Second Generation pistols due to the 44 calibre and configuration. The round top hammer with solid firing pin was only used for a very short time. This alone also makes this pistol highly collectable.
