Description:
Wonderful Colt Model 1849 with the scarce 6" barrel. In this condition you can tell this one wasn't carried much. All parts match including the barrel wedge. Still has the complete cylinder scene as sharp as the day it was made. Gun still retains a large amount of blue, starting to turn brown, mostly on the cylinder. The bore is grey but still has most of it's rifeling. The barrel is marked with the one line New York, America address. Serial Number 286244 was produced in 1866, after the Civil War but just as everyone was headed west. I found this one in Texas.
