Description:
EARLY NEAR MINT COLT SINGLE ACTION .38 COLT CAL. 5 ½” REVOLVER W/ 1910 SHIPPED BROWNING BROS., UTAH WITH FACTORY LETTER . 100% original and matching in the 315xxx range. 99% plus original bright blue and case colors. Very slight dark patination on the back strap over the blue which is all there and not worn at all. Mint bore and chambers. Mint screws with all the blue finish. Looks like it just came out of the box after 110 years of storage. Factory special order pre ban grips fully ESA exempt stated in the Colt Records and the Factory Letter as on the gun when shipped December 29, 1910. Really one of the scarcest and finest Single Actions of this vintage we have had. Very interesting letter states that the gun was special ordered for Consolidated Wagon & Machine Co. of Salt Lake City, a Mormon Cooperative manufacturer of wagons, carriages and farm equipment. Their building still stands in Salt Lake City. Colt shipped the gun to their dealer Browning Brothers of Ogden and Salt Lake City as mentioned in the letter at a time when John M. Browning the famous arms inventor was active in the management. Price on request.
