Description:
Serial #Z12511, .303 British, 25” barrel with a good plus bore that has light freckling and pitting within the grooves. This is a 1918 dated rifle that was refit and refurbished with the numbered components altered to match by the armory. The metal retains about 50-60% of the armory blue, with the balance of the metal having turned to a mellow, pewter gray patina throughout. The bolt has some further silvering and fading along the bearing surfaces and handle. The walnut stock and furniture have an armory added, military oil finish with relatively few handling marks or blemishes, and are in fine shape. There are no stamps or markings visible in the wood, and the brass stock disk is blank. This is a nice looking example of a World War II rebuilt SMLE, and is in good-very good condition overall.
