Description:
Serial #71L5242, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a Long Branch marked, 1944 dated rifle that has retained about 85-90% of an armory applied blue finish with some mild silvering along the exposed edges and projections. The matching numbered bolt has bright streaks of gray along the body, along with some further fading on the handle and safety lug, and an “L”-shaped rear battle sight is fitted. The forend and handguards have been arsenal refinished with some resin repairs along the underside near the nosecap, and numerous small handling marks and light surface blemishes, while the buttstock, which has a crisp “C/(Broad Arrow)” property mark, is in better condition with few handling marks, and only a single small sliver of wood missing at the heel. A single magazine is included, which has a flaked black Suncorite finish, and a gray-green nylonsling is currently fitted as well. This is a handsome, wartime Lee-Enfield rifle and rates about very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
