Empire boxlocks were made to be stong and easy to maintain for users in the furthest regions of the British Empire. This Greener is well built, in good mechanical condition but shows a fair amount of cosmetic wear to the case coloring on the action and to the bluing on the barrels. A great gun for game or clays and tough conditions. *** The action was built with the Greener cross bolt of its namesake for strength. It has double triggers and the unique side-mounted Greener satety. It shows extensive finish wear and fading but no reduction in its mechanical condition. Weight is 7lb 4oz. Serial number is 74489. *** The 28" nitro steel barrels are equipped with extractors and are chambered for 2-3/4" cartridges. The left barrel is bored 0.734 with a constriction of 0.012 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.031. The right barrel is bored 0.735 and has a constriction of 0.014 for Light Modified choke. Mimimum wall thickness is 0.025. The bores are shiny but there is considerable bluing wear on the outside of the barrels. *** The strong walnut stock sports a beefy Prince of Wales grip and the splinter forearm has an ebony tip. It has recently been refinished and the checkering shows only a little wear. Stock dimensions are 14-5/8" over a 1" rubber pad by 1-3/8" by 2-1/8". Slightly cast off for the right hand shot.. *** Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance and related charges. I give a three-day non-firing inspection and will only accept returns if gun is not as described. SOLD |
