For your viewing from my shooting buddy's estate is a Colt 1905 pistol with a unprofound history. This pistol was ordered from Colt for the 1907 millitary testing for a new US Government sidearm. This pistol was one of 200 inhanced models ordered. The lot of pistols were divided up and sent to four locations for preliminary testing. Pistols number 66 to 138 was sent to the cavalry in DesMoins Iowa for testing. This pistol number 79 was tested and returned to Springfield Armory. After extensive tests, and more modifications were made by John Browning and Colt, a updated version was made. in 1911 the updated version of this pistol was re-tested and accepted as the official Colt model 1911 and approved for millitary service. Who knows, John Browning could of handled this pistol in it's remarkable development. We do know that from the development of the model 1900 thru the 1911 John Browning and Colt gave us the most trusted sidearm in history. My buddy inherited this pistol and never shot it. It functions fine, but has not been fired. I suspect this pistol has not been fire in over seventy five years. A truley remarkable piece of American history. Colt historical letter included
