Description:
Winchester Model 1886 Extra LWT rifle - Cal. .45-70 - 22" tapered barrel - SN 152XXX(1915). Perfect bore - bright with sharp rifling - perfect action - excellent feeding, extraction, ejection and lock-up. Excellent metal with sharp markings and no rust, pits, or corrosion. Barrel and magazine tube retain 95% + blue - FE cap 90% - receiver has about 80% blue with wear mostly on the lower sides and bottom - the lever has drifted to a pleasing gray patina. The front sight is a Marbles 37W ivory bead - there is a blank in the rear sight slot and a proper period Lyman 21N receiver sight. The wood is excellent, undamaged and retains 95 % finish - some oil may have been added over a few slightly worn areas on part of the forend and butt. The hard rubber buttplate is undamaged with sharp checkering and logo. A very sharp old 1886 LWT with lots of finish and perfect mechanics - except for sights and touch-up to stock, all original and in near EXCELLENT condition in the very desirable .45-70 caliber. Will make a fine hunter, shooter, and collectible. Includes Coldy E-mail verification.
