COLT PERCUSSION (PRE-1899)--Colt 1848 BABY DRAGOON 17-23
Colt 1848 Baby Dragoon Model Percussion Revolver, Pre-Civil War era. The Baby Dragoons were only made from 1847-1850 and had square back trigger guards. Gripes are walnut. There were only about 15,000 Baby Dragoons made as compared to the model 1849 with close to 300,000 made from 1850 to 1873. Serial # 4847 all matching including barrel, cylinder, and frame, wedge is numbered 845, 5” barrel. Standard markings are barely readable, address Samuel Colt New York City. Gun is in very good condition, metal is clean with just a little corrosion on cylinder. The gun works fine mechanically, locks up when cocked; the bore has rifling and very little corrosion and chambers looks good. Authentic Pre-Civil War Era Colt.
