Description:
Colt "Lightning" DA Revolver - Cal. .38CF - 2 1/2" Bbl. - often called the "Sheriffs" Model - SN 93XXX(1893). Perfect bore - bright with sharp rifling - excellent action with perfect iming and lock-up in both DA and SA modes. Metal is excellent overall with sharp markings and perfect screws - barrel and cylinder show a couple of areas of very light surface "spotting" and retain about 85% + blue with some mild thinning - guard and backstrap have about 70% thinning blue. The frame gas drifted to a pleasing silver gray patina with a few traces of light case color remaining. Grips are undamaged with perfect fit to frame and show sharp checkering and logo wiith no sign of wear. A very crisp and all original old "Lightning" in perfect working order with the scarce and very desirable 2 1/2" barrel - a favorite of several Old West gunfighters such "Billy the Kid" Bonney. A super collectible and great addition to and early Colt or OLd West collection !
