Description:
This is a J.P. Moore ,3 band enfield musket , these Enfield Musket were improrted from Birmingham , some were bought for the Confederate Army. The Barrel is marked ROSE was manufactured by ROSE Brothers of Birmingham . Rose Brothers were barrel markers from 1860 -1870 Most of these Enfield ended up in the South during Civil War with battle history.This civil war musket is in very nice condition ,58 cal early lock date 1861 . According too Norm Flayderman's Book only about 3000 were made and half were bought by the Confederate's. All were hand engraved on the lock and lock plate. These J.P.Moore enfields are very scarce to find in any condition.
