Description:
Scarce Civil War percussion Joslyn revolver, .44 caliber. Serial #2123 matching. These scarce revolvers were produced early in the war during 1861-1862 with only approximately 3,000 manufactured. This example is in very good+ condition overall. The metal is a pleasing smooth dove-grey overall. Very clear barrel markings on the top "B. F. JOSLYN. / PAT'D MAY 4TH,1858.". Mechanics are very good. Beautiful 2-piece original walnut grips with fine distinct checkering still present, in additional to the flat iron buttcap bearing the serial #. These scarce Joslyn revolvers are not common to run across on today's market. This example would be hard to better.
