Description:
Winchester Model 1886 serial # 132549 in caliber 33 WCF. Parts rifle / parts lot consisting of original barrel factory attached to original frame, original lower tang with serial #, original forearm, original forearm cap with tenon and screws, original magazine tube follower, original magazine tube end cap with through screw, and original later style rifle butt plate. Frame has original hammer, hammer/tang screw, hammer spring, bolt with firing pin, both inner cartridge guides, 2-piece loading gate with spring and screw, carrier and carrier spring with screw. No finish remains except in protected areas of barrel. Barrel has surface pinprick oxidation that should clean up before restoration (if desired). Bore has good rifling with light frosting and should spin a bullet just fine. Action is smooth and half-cock safety functions, however the hammer does not stay back when cocked and follows the lever forward when cycled so some adjustment in some way is necessary. Forearm has nicks, dings, dents and gouges; also a tight hairline about 1" long coming back from the forend cap on the underside. This rifle does "letter" with a rifle butt and full magazine - barrel has proper dovetail for mag tube ring and hole at end for through screw of mag tube cap. Someone drilled a small spot for the through screw to slide into just forward of the forend cap on the underside - does NOT go all the way through the barrel - mag tube was split and cut to 1/2 length. Manufactured in so must ship to FFL or C&R. No international sales. Ships to US addresses via USPS Priority mail with tracking.
