Description:
'WE NEED INVENTORY'  WE BUY, TRADE AND CONSIGN QUALITY FIREARMS

Here is a very special Colt.  This Model 1908 .380 was manufactured in 1920 and was engraved
by master engraver Wilber Glahn,   This would be a 2nd year Glahn engraving as he began his
work for Colt's in 1919.  Mr. Glahn worked under Cuno Hilfrict until Hilfrict retired in 1921.  Glahn then
became chief engraver and worked with Colt until 1950.  Mr. Glahn's work is distinguishable by the
"V" engraved patterns and his personally engraved Colt's are highly sought by collectors.
.  The condition of this Colt is near perfect.  The original nickel finish is 100% flawless with zero
distractions.  The bore is a 10 and the barrel retains all of it original nickel finish.  There is no
powder residue or evidence the pistol having been fired.  The original deep dish medallion grips
are in nice condition. The only distractions to this Colt would be the repair around the
escutcheon and a couple small chips on the right grip panel.  The repair is very well done
and there are no cracks and the grips are in solid condition.
Referencing John Brunner's book "Colt Pocket Hammerless Automatic Pistols", approximatly
303 Model 1908 .380's were factory engraved.  If 50% of those were blued we can assume
around 150 factory engraved nickel finish .380's are in existance today.  Very few could be
found in this condition.

An outstanding example of a Wilbur Glahn factory engraved, nickel, Model 1908 .380.

Factory letter confirms configuration including MOP grips.  Sorry, no no box.
