Description:
Beretta licensed the Egyptian government to produce the Beretta 9mm 951 Brigadier pistol for the armed forces and police of the United Arab Republic. Produced in the Helwan Arms Factory, the government designated it the Pistol Helwan M-51. It is the former Italian service pistol and the immediate predecessor of the Beretta M92 series. It is single action, 9mm parabellum, 4.5 inch barrel, black plastic grips, fixed sights. In the early 1980s a limited number of new M-51s were imported into the United States. Original importer was Steyr-Daimler-Puch of America, Inc. A very few factory cutaway samples were imported to demonstrate functioning to potential large-quantity buyers, such as police departments. Note: Pistol is new in box. Any apparent blemishes to finish are due to camera glare. This cutaway pistol has 12 cuts, mostly on the right side. Because it cannot be made to fire, it is classified as a non-firearm and can be shipped directly to buyer without FFL. This unique specimen can be the focal point of any advanced Beretta collection.
