I recieved two calls where potential buyers who told me that .44-40 Vaqueros in this serial number range were recalled, So I called Ruger, they ashored me that was not true. They said that the only reason there was a different ot .002 of an inch between the barrel and the cylinder (.427 correct for the .44-40) was because the gun was also offered with a second .44 mag cyl. IF you want to change .427 to .429 send it in and they will open the cylinder .002. They asured me that the diference between the .002 is like the diference between a dual cylinder .22lr and a .22 Mag.
