Up for sale today is a US Springfield Model 1888 Trapdoor serial no. 52234 chambered in caliber .45-70. This excellent Model 1888 shows a breech block date of 1884 and the integral cleaning rod bayonet. The rifle shows an excellent bore and excellent original wood finish. Has excellent cartouches and shows perfect mechanical function. An outstanding piece of American history and a great shooter as well.
