This fantastic open-bolt Tac-1 carbine package comes with everything original to the DEMRO kit. It is new and unfired, and even has the original Delron rubber bumper that always deteriorates in place (replaceable if you plan on shooting it). We have never seen a more complete kit that this!

Overall in new condition with no defects noted, except for some slight wear to the carrier from charging the action for testing. These open-bolt guns are becoming increasingly rare and worn out since their 1982 ban, so it's very rare to find an unfired specimen like this offering

A semi or fully automatic firearm is said to fire from an open bolt if, when ready to fire, the bolt and working parts are held to the rear. When the trigger is pulled the bolt goes forward, feeding a round from the magazine into the chamber and firing it. Like any other self-loading design without an external power supply, the action is cycled by the energy of the shot; this sends the bolt back to the rear, ejecting the empty cartridge case and preparing for the next shot (or continuing forward again, if the trigger is held down and the weapon is an automatic). Generally, an open-bolt firing cycle is used for fully automatic weapons and not for semi-automatic weapons (except some semi-automatic conversions of automatic designs). Firearms using Advanced Primer Ignition blowback inherently fire from open bolt only.

In the U.S., the BATF made a ruling in 1982 that semi-automatic open-bolt weapons are readily convertible to fully automatic fire, therefore such weapons manufactured after the date of this ruling are classed and controlled as fully automatic weapons (weapons manufactured prior to the ruling are grandfathered and are still considered semi-automatic).[1] Open bolt semi-automatic weapons made between 1982 and May 1986 when the Hughes Amendment was signed into law as part of the Firearm Owners Protection Act could have been registered as automatic weapons, but any made after this time or were not registered by this time were not transferable.
