Description:
The 1866 second Allin conversion rifles were produced at the Springfield Armory beginning early in 1867.About 52,000 rifles were converted between 1867 & 1869. About half of these were sent to Europe for use inthe Franco - Prussian War and were later destroyed. About 26,000 stayed in the U.S.
