S&W M1917 Commercial. The serial # S prefix, according to Fjestad’s Blue Book, this revolver was manufactured from military contract overruns between May 14, 1946 – July 25, 1947,limited run of 991 were manufactured.
Excellent condition. Faults include; light holster wear on both sides of muzzle, two very light scratches on left side of frame near stock (pencil indicates area in closeup), four slight dents in right stock (finish not broken (pencil indicates area in close up), screw head screw damaged (top right screw head), cylinder axel/pin shows wear. .
