#555779, Vic Olson Custom Model 70 Winchester Using a Pre-64 Barreled Action, The barreled action made by Winchester in 1961 in 243 Winchester Featherweight, It has a 22" factory Featherweight barrel without open sights, Made in 1983, Standard 3 position Model 70 wing safety, Model 70 trigger, Standard Model 70 Featherweight floorplate and trigger guard, Jeweled bolt & follower, A very nice Classic Style custom stock with English walnut, Nice piece of wood with nice color and contrast, Complete wrap around point pattern checkering that is extremely well cut and of proper style and execution, Excellent inletting, Shadowline cheekpiece, Ebony inlay at the forend tip, Jerry Fisher steel grip cap, 13 3/4" LOP over a Biesen checkered steel buttplate, 7 lbs. 7 oz., The bore is excellent, The blue remains at 97%, The oil finished stock at 98-99%, The checkering at 100%. This bolt rifle has nice workmanship along with the classic lines of what an American classic styled bolt rifle is all about. //////////////////////////////////// Mr. Vic Olson was a gunsmith at Browning Arms in Missouri and then went on his own building custom rifles in the 1970's & 80's. He can flat inlet, shape and checker with the best of them. His checkering is as good as the best.
