Description:
#2475 Unmarked Percussion 50cal back-action lock “handgun?” with a 16” barrel, circa 1850-1870s. Now, what I THINK this might be (as a somewhat educated guess) is an unmarked and cut-down percussion large-bore Half Stock rifle that has been altered to a pistol of sorts. Obviously, it was not a high-grade gun to begin with, no double-set triggers, no engraving or wood carvings …but as a good defense weapon, especially when loaded with birdshot. It could be strapped to a persons thigh, or hung under ones armpit, or around the neck on a thong. Interesting and rather impressive frontier altered gun and definitely a piece of early Western Americana ….and CHEAP! About Good+ $145
