Description:
1903 Springfield Sedgley Sporter in 25 ROB ( 257 Roberts ), Presentation Custom.  Being a Custom Rifle, I am not sure when this gun was built and presented.  The caliber marking tells me that it was done long ago.  Also, I do not see a serial number on the receiver.  Haven't had it out of the wood to see if one is hidden somewhere on the gun.  Metal is 100%.  Stock appears to be beautiful American Walnut made by Brownell.  No apparent handling marks.  Minor discoloration on the rosewood forend.  Nothing major.
Simple Delicate Carving around the Beautiful Checkering.  Needner Buttplate.  20 Inch Barrel with Excellent Bore.  All Weather low power Lyman Alaskan with stith mounting system leaving the name P.F. Sedgley Inc. showing on the barrel.  What makes this gun quite special is the inscription on the Decorative Silver Momogram Plate on the bottom of the forend.  It states, " STOCKED FOR DR RUSSELL C SMITH BY LEONARD M BROWNNELL ".  I guess the serial number on this gun could qualify for the Feds as 25 ROB.  Quite a piece of firearms history with this piece,  FFL or C&R Required.  Thanks for Looking.
