Description:
A fine and very rare E.W. Cook Rotating breech over/under shotgun/rifle. E.W. Cook was a small gunmaker from Lockport, NY who organized a battalion from western NY during the Civil War. This is one of two known Cook longarms known to exist!! It rotates at he breech and the frame is engraved and is quite lovely. The patchbox is German silver and has the name C.J. Williams engraved on it. The rifle is about .44 caliber and the shotgun about 16 guage. Two ramrods present but are probably not original. The bore is excellent and the mechanics are tight. Both nipples are a bit flattened and could be replaced. Estimated date of manufacture is 1845-1850. REDUCED!!
