Here Is an Attractive and Unique Savage Rifle! This Beautiful Firearm is a Savage Model-99E Series-A .243 caliber Lever-Action Rifle. S.N.#-C2983xx Guessing Mfg. Between 1975-1977 ? This Lightweight Model has a 22' barrel with a adjustable windage & elevation -folding leaf rear sight. The front sight is a raised ramp. This Rifle has the lever-safety and the cocking indicator pin is gold-plated. In My opinion, what makes this Rifle Unique is its Uncommon & Appealing "Light-Colored" Stocks. I believe that it maybe one of a Limited Run of Select Light-Colored English or European Wallnut. Others have guessed it may be Maple,Birch,Butternut,Pecan, or a Blond Wood. The Stocks have the Savage Factory Impressed Checkering. The Buttstock is the pistol grip type without a cap and has a hard rubber/plastic plate. This Desireable Lever-Action has minor wear, handling marks and discoloration But, is in Very-Good Condition - Inside & Out. The Rifle is topped with a Leupold base & rings and a Pacific Supreme 4x40mm Scope W/medium crosshairs. All & All, Not perfect but, Certainly a Rare or at least a Hard To Find 40-yr. old Savage M99.
