This is a 1944 dated carbine without any import marks that retains 80-85% of the original Suncorite finish that has flaked to the underlying plum-brown color on the balance of the metal, mainly along the barrel. There is some gray fading and silvering at the muzzle, as well as on the high edges and projections that continue on the handle and bearing surfaces of the matching numbered bolt. The matching numbered stock with handguard is in fine shape and have just a few very minor handling marks marring the otherwise excellent armory finish. Issue numbers are stamped into the left rear of the stock, and a period tan canvas sling is installed. The magazine matches the condition of the rest of the rifle, and is numbered to the gun as well. This is a fine example of a No. 5 Jungle Carbine in excellent original condition and would make a fabulous addition to a collection.
