Description:
This is a 1955 Remington 740 Woodsmaster chambered for 30-06. The 22” blued barrel is in good condition with no pitting or scratches. The bore has some roughness but the rifling is still sharp. The front sight is a fixed bead mounted in a ramped dovetail and the rear sight has been removed from it’s dovetail. The blued receiver is also in good condition, having some light finish wear around the edges but no scratches or corrosion. Mounted on the receiver is a Bushnell 4x40 scope in Leupold rings. The tube and glass are in good condition but the crosshairs are canted about 45°. The walnut forend and buttstock are in fair condition. The forend has some scratches and a few disrupt the finish. The buttstock has a chip out of the toe and finish is scratched in several places. The original Remington buttplate has some finish wear but is otherwise undamaged. The buttstock holds the rear sling swivel and the barrel holds the front sling swivel. Magazine included. Length of pull is 13-½”, overall length is 42-½”, and weight is 8.4 lbs.
