I purchased this gun from Westley Richards in UK. Phillipson & Nephew made actions for the majority of the trade including Purdey, Boss, William & Son, McKay Brown and others. Occasionally, they made superb guns for friends and high-end clients of the company. This is one of those guns. WR believes that it was likely made between the wars based on the quality of engraving.

Vintage unlabeled leather-covered case with rod and basic cleaning accessories.
LOP = 14 3/8” at the heel, 14 5/16” at center and 14 7/8” at the toe.
Drop = 1 ½” at the comb, 1 15/16 at the heel.
Cast Off = 5/16” at the heel, 3/8” at the toe.
Gun was proofed at .729 and now reads .735 in the left and .733 in the right. Wall thickness is .027 thou in the right and .024 thou in the left.
Free of any dents, bulges or rivelling.
Retains substantial case coloring with intricate game scene and scroll engraving done to the highest standard. A true British Best, the equal of any other.
