Has a very rare Heavy Whitworth barrel used by sharpshooters /snipers during the Civil War. Rifle has a hickory stock with brass trigger guard and butt plate with hand engraving. The whitworth barrel is octogon in shape and the rileing is also octogon shape which required custom made bullets. These Barrels were known to be accurate out to 1500yds +. Like any antique firearm it should be checked out by a competent gunsmith if you planned on fireing it.
