I am not a winchester historian or collector.If I have something listed wrong,please dont hesitate to advise and/or correct me. I have for sale a winchester "697" in .22 lr.I beleive it to be all correct as a 697.(,NOT a 69 with a scope)..with original winchester scope and mounts. No open sights,nor was the barrel ever grooved for front or rear sight. The wood and metal on this rifle are simply amazing for the age of this rifle.The trigger and floor plate have turned to a flat patina (no rust) bolt handle shows wear as it should for its age.Bore is excellant, Stock has sling swivels installed.I believe them to be period correct as well as the sling.,but I am uncertain if they would have come from Winchester as a factory option.The scope is fully functional,as I have shot this rifle,but there is a little "hair" or something on the lower vertical crosshair.Scope is very clear.Does not effect the function of the scope,but it is present.These guns are rare",buy them when you see them".Pictures leave a bit to be desired.If additonal info or pictures required dont hesitate to ask.Price includes shipping and insurance to lower 47(NO Calif sales)..C&R license "ok": on this peice of history.If you are a serious Winchester collector...you need this for your collection.Original magazine marked "69".It is my understanding that they made only approx 1435 of these.therefore if your are a winchester collector,you would be among the 1435 or LESS that could have this rifle in their collection...certainly something to consider as a trur winchester collector!As of 4/25/2017 over 720 people have looked at this rare item.I had no idea where to price it due to it's rareity.Reasonablle offers will be considered.It is going to be sold either on gunsinternational or local.Thanks for looking>
