Description:
SOLD This is a very nice Winchester 1886 45/90. Bore in the 26" half round barrel is bright and shiny, with very good lands and grooves. It will rate an easy eight on a one to ten scale. I do have a copy of the Cody Firearms Museum Letter signed by Jessica Bennett. Caliber 45/90, 1/2 octagon, plain trigger, checkered pistol grip, 1/2 magazine, and shotgun butt. Received in the warehouse October 02, 1894. Shipped from warehouse on October 02, 1884. A very high percentage of the original barrel blue remains, as shown in the pictures. Same with the original case color hardening. Wood to metal fit is excellent. The highly figured wood is in excellent condition, including original finish and crisp checkering on the forearm and buttstock. Action is smooth and tight. This piece was not used much. The underside of the receiver shows some silvering of the case color. All markings are clear, correct, and original. No one has messed with this 45/90. It is completely original and unaltered.
