According the serial number directory at Colt, this piece was made in 1919.
As for the finish, my local gun expert says the nickel plating was done very well: “It looks like it could be original, but I can’t say for sure that it is.” According to the current Blue Book, it came with “blue finish standard,” but no exceptions are mentioned. If anyone knows if this gun was offered from the factory with a nickel finish, I welcome your expertise.
As you can see from the photos, there is some corrosion and wear, with the worst of it being at the “corner” on the right rear of the frame about 3/16ths” behind the rear of the right grip.
I am not a handgun expert; I have never fired the gun. But, I will do my best to answer questions if any are posed.
