Description:
The serial number is 11410 and is early 1898. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore has very good rifling with light frosting from the corrosive ammo. The blue is 65% and no rust or pitting on the metal surface. The wood is fine, except for a grain crack repair at the wrist and that is a solid repair. No other cracks or damage to the wood. Most all of the U.S. inventory of the Model 95 made in 1898 and 1899 went to Cuba and Central America so when you find one they show very hard use. This one except for the wrist repair is in very fine condition. This is a legal pre 1899 antique rifle.
