Only 2400+ were ever made due to the start of WWII within months of Remington bringing this rifle to the market. About 900 were sold to civilians with the balance bought by the Navy.
Prized and sought after by collectors and shooters who know about the 720. This was made in 1941, S/N 40110, a civilian owned gun which is exacttly the same as those bought by the Navy except for the factory provided rubber butt pad, as opposed to the Navy steel buttplate and the Navy acceptance stamps on the stock. I have verified through Remington that this gun is unaltered and exactly the way it left the factory. Excellent condition showing little use. Don't let this one get away, you may never see another one.
