Description:
Made in 1891, in very handsome and useable shape. Matching numbers, crack-free wood and mechanically fine. Rifle was professionally dismantled, inspected, de-crudded and reassembled...no small task! Buttplate, screw heads and wood finish have been refreshed, and it really improves the overall look. Some original bright blue remains on the receiver sides, the balance of the metal has turned brown with decent spotting on the mag tube. Bore is dark with decent rifling from front to back, has a good chamber, and should shoot just fine. Has the proper original sights and elevator on the 26" octagonal barrel. Action operates satisfyingly smooth and slick...this is a rifle that many would be proud to own and use. Antique status on this one.
