Many of the soldiers that fought in the War of 1812 were frontiersmen from Kentcuky and Tennessee. We purchased this sword in our store in Lexington, Kentucky and it is quite possible that it has been in Kentucky since the war. The blade has the inspectors initials L.S. which stands for Luther Sage who inspected Starr swords in 1813.
