Description:
Not exactly a Trooper, but it's close relative the Colt Model Three Fifty Seven chambered in the powerful .357 Magnum. The serial number dates production to 1960. This is a desirable 4" late model version with Wide Spur Hammer and Target Stock option. The original blue finish and over all condition rates at least 98%. The action is crisp, lock up is tight, bore is clean and the grips are excellent. The condition of the cylinder face, recoil shield and forcing cone indicate little use. There is no box or papers. Produced from 1953 until 1961, this was Colt's premium model revolver with a more carefully fitted/tuned action and better external finish compared to that of the Trooper. The release of the Python in 1955 was the beginning of the end for the Model 3-5-7 and production soon declined. Relatively hard to find gun in this condition with a low total production of approximately 15,000.
