The serial number 261126 can be seen on the butt grip frame,rear cylinder face,bottom flat of barrel,inner yoke which is visible by looking thru rear of cylinder and the inner side of the ejector star.It has the mushroon shape ejector knob.The grip panel has no markings as the method was to pencil mark them has long disappeared from age.For a century old Smith .38 the bluing is in excellent condition.There are minor handling marks as this revolver was passed from nightstand to nightstand during her lifetime.The bluing still maintains a high polished lustrous look.The lock up is outstanding.There is no movement of cylinder when in battery.The bore is bright and shiney.The original checkered walnut gold medallion grips are beautiful.There are no cracks and very little wear.The hammer and trigger still maintain the case coloring of 100 yrs.
