Description:
NSN, 11.3 x 51R, 32” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an 1875 dated rifle that has an overall freckled, plum-brown patina with all-matching assembly numbers. The high edges, bearing surfaces of the bolt, and projections have the underlying gray metal peeking through wherever the freckling is thin. The walnut stock has an armory added oil finish with numerous small handling marks and blemishes along its entire length, along with a still legible “(crown)/W” royal cypher (William I), and 1875 dated Delft cartouche on the right side of the buttstock. The rifle comes with an original ramrod, and is in very good-fine condition. It is an attractive example of an unusual early European military repeater. Antique
