Southerner Deringer Pistol, made circa 1870 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. About 16,500 of these were made, making them quite scarce. The pistol was designed like many in its day to be a very simple, small and concealable self-defense tool. While much of the competition made their single shots is the tiny .22 and .32 calibers, Brown’s “Southerner” was in the relatively stout .41 rimfire used by the likes of National, Colt and Remington. Overall condition is fair. The brass frame has a dark patina. The markings are still mostly legible. The grips are worn. The bore is rifled. The action is not functional. Nevertheless, it is a neat collectible and talking piece. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-3/8 inches in length. Caliber: .41 rimfire Bore is in fair condition. The firing mechanism is functional. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
