NEVER CLEANED, ATTIC CONDITION 1873 .44-40 MUSKET, MADE 1894, this is a fine example that still retains fine aged blue overall that is naturally mixing plum/brown from the last 123 years! Shows no evidence of ever being cleaned or "helped" in any way, there is better blue in the usual protected areas with the balance a pleasing dark patina, exc. markings, exc. bore, original dust cover, uncleaned mellow brass lifter, exc wood that shows normal light handling only with tight wood to metal fit, right side of butt stock just ahead of the butt plate has three lightly stamped script letters- possibly from a foreign arsenal- original military style rear sight, tight action, correct swivels, exc. screws, really a very fine example of a hard to find variation.
