VERY UNUSUAL SPECIAL ORDER 1894 .38-55 OCTAGON RIFLE WITH NICKEL STEEL MARKED BARREL! MADE 1905, this is something almost never encountered in the two "black powder calibers" of .38-55 and .32-40. Fine condition overall with exc. barrel and mag blue with only the lightest of edge wear, receiver blue is dulling and thinning a bit from age with fine blue on the bolt and exc. screws, lever shows some case color in the more protected areas, exc. walnut stock and forend with the stock a little better than standard grade, butt stock may have been very lightly gone over at some time, but not heavily sanded or over cleaned- minor, has Marble tang sight with Sheard marked long blade/bead front sight (patented 1900 marking) and "W" marked slot filler in the rear dovetail, tight action, exc. bore that is slightly dark, very rare with Nickel Steel marked barrel!
