Pair of Flintlock Pistols by Thomas Fowler, Capel Street, Dublin, Ireland A pair of high quality muzzleloading flintlock pistols with full walnut stocks with exceptional checkering. This pair of pistols is fitted with beautiful flintlocks and is stocked with iron hardware that has light pitting with even gray patina. The barrels are wonderfully designed with light pitting that has a nice grey patina. The walnut stocks are in fine condition with original finish. The flintlocks have beautiful cocks, pans, frizzens and frizzen springs. The barrel is engraved Dublin and lock is engraved Fowler. The ramrods are original. Work by Thomas Fowler of 14 Capel Street in Dublin is a much sought after Irish gunsmith.
These examples remain in mechanically perfect condition throughout with their original stock finish and light pitting on the barrels and hardware that has a nice even grey patina. Ca. 1845
